I’m still trying to figure out where the ‘guilt’ or ‘crown’ come in… whatever, it’s Guilty Crown. Believe it!

Guilty Crown: Did You Know?

Guilty Crown had a wave of momentum leading up to its release as it was helmed by then-director of Death Note and future director of Attack on Titan, Tetsuro Araki. However, Araki was given too much authority behind the scenes on Guilty Crown, and the series inherited a heaping helping of his worst writing flaw: shallow characters. On release, the series was widely panned for its characters and cliched, convoluted story. This is especially unfortunate as many had anticipated the series as a spiritual successor to Code Geass, just another black mark on that series’ declining reputation.
